Joe Hauser, an Army Infantry Sergeant, gets his DD214, the document that means he is now a civilian. With his newfound freedom in hand, he drives across the country to start a job as a graphic designer, a skill he perfected by drawing on porta potties across multiple combat zones. Fresh out of the military and never having had a civilian job, Joe hilariously finds himself on a quest for the two things that every military veteran searches for when they get out: Tribe and Purpose, as well as the one thing every human seeks: Love.

Staff Sergeant Joe Hauser leaves his military family at Fort Lewis, Washington and drives across the country to meet his new marketing family in Chapel Hill, NC, as he starts his very first day as a graphic designer at Gasoline Dog. A couple of early morning misunderstandings leave his new coworkers with the wrong impression of him.

Joe makes a series of mistakes that leave him in hot water with the domineering HR manager, Victoria. Account Manager Stewie picks a fight with the wrong guy, as the team tries to land a big banking client.

Stewie puts everyone in a bad spot when he brings on Silas Wraithmore (played by Tim Kennedy) as a client to try to ruin a First Responder meme page. Persuaded by the money, Karen tries to motivate the team and pushes them to their limit.

Rival marketing company Los Reyes de Los Lobos bullies fellow designer Carter, forcing Joe to take aggressive action.

Investor bigwig Dick Richards asks Gasoline Dog to build his new male enhancement pill brand, but the team isn't into it, despite the stress Karen is under. Joe reverts to his past and tries to use "military motivation" to inspire them.

Joe makes an error in judgment and gets upset with Ashleigh-Mareigh, not realizing she was live-streaming. As the small town of Chapel Hill turns against Joe, chaos reigns supreme and it might be the end for the Gasoline Dog Team.
