MTV Roadies is a youth-based popular reality television show. It is an Indian version of the original show, Road Rules. In this show, a group of contestants travel to different destinations and participate in various tasks that challenge their physical, social and mental strength.
For forty days, four boys—Tony Kordelia (20, Pune), Rannvijay Singh Singha (20, Delhi), Ranjit Bajaj (24, Chandigarh), Iqnoor Bains (21, Rajpura)—and three girls—Divya Shukla (18, Bangalore), Mini Goel (19, Chandigarh), Natasha Gulati (21, Delhi)—embark on a 4000 km journey on the road on the road of India. From Chennai to Chail, through villages, small towns and big cities, they see the real India, complete adventurous tasks and foster new bonds. Will the seven Roadies fall in love, make friends, do anything wild, anything good or just end up hating each other?
On Day 1, the Roadies are introduced to each other and whisked away to an MTV party in Chennai.
The Roadies look for their bikes and find out who rides with whom.
The Roadies have their bikes taken away from them, and hey have to hitchhike almost 300 km to their next destination, Gullapur in Karnataka.
Roadies reach Karwar, where the role reversal happens. The girls have to fish for food and the boys have to keep the house, cook, clean and wash clothes.
The Roadies ride to Goa, party hard on board a private ferry with MTV VJs, and vote off one roadie.
The season begins with the Pune auditions. It's early morning and already a long queue of over 1400 show up.
After all the tears, joys and arguments at the Pune auditions, the audition gang, move to Kolkata and Delhi.
We are covering the auditions in Chandigarh and Mumbai. The Chandigarh guys express their opinions very forcefully. At the GD everyone yelled at the other.
Finally the judges have made their choice, and now 14 Roadies hopefuls have been asked to come to Mumbai. Of these, only 7 will become roadies.
So the journey begins. The roadies have landed in Kolkata. They are shown to their rooms, pick their riding partners and then get dressed for the launch party to be held at TANTRA.
It's the day after the party, and its 5.15 am. Aarti has to get everyone out of bed and in the lobby in 15 minutes! The Roadies are led to the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata where the boys select their bikes and then get individual lessons from Hero Honda professionals. Post lunch the Roadies had to perform their first task on the river Hoogli.
In the third season, 13 roadies completely mad, over the top, crazy and sexy roadies competes.
The series was won by veteran roadie Palak Johal, originally from Season 6, of Team Raghu. She won the title on May 11, 2013. Her grand price included a total cash price of ₹ 450,000, a Hero Impulse bike and an HD laptop.
