Real-life couples reveal their intimacy issues and hash out their problems as they talk to a professional therapist, hoping to make a breakthrough and strengthen their relationships.
Therapist Marryam is faced with three very different couples' challenges. Scott wants Brendon to cut down his drinking, Polly and Stef have parenting conflicts and Cat and Doug are in a relationship where Cat is in love with two men.
Doug feels constantly compared to Cat's late husband. Scott reveals he's triggered by Brendon's drinking because his father was also a heavy drinker, but Brendon is unmoved. Polly and Stef clash over parenting styles.
Doug admits he can't fix Cat's car while living in her late husband's shadow. Brendon denies having a drinking problem after telling Scott he wishes he was with his ex. Stef finally speaks up and confronts his fears of upsetting Polly.
Marryam processes the betrayal Doug feels about having a framed picture of Cat's late husband in the bedroom, while alcohol is the third person in Scott and Brendon's relationship. Meanwhile, Stef loves his new approach with Polly
Doug can't please Cat and she feels lonely. Brendon has cheated and Scott initiated a revenge threesome. Polly and Stef explore spending more family time together, but Stef struggles to clearly express his needs and goals.
Doug can't show emotion, while Cat needs attention and affection, leaving her question her commitment. Scott turns up to therapy with another bombshell. Polly is hurt and confused by Stef's lack of interest in her 30thth birthday.
In the season final, the couples sit down for their final sessions with Marryam.
Jenny pushes Helen away and her tough exterior reveals a deep trauma. Priscilla is trying to juggle motherhood and career and Brian feels left out. And how much influence should Cam's parents have over his relationship with Nicolle?
Jenny wields the sword in her relationship with Helen. What's really driving them apart? Tension around work and family for Brian and Priscilla. Cam and Nicolle's conflict threatens their future and so do Cam's influential parents.
Cam admits he has different personalities depending on who he is with. Helen's people pleasing is explored and she confronts Jenny on past hurts. A discussion about Priscilla's feeding of the baby highlights a major miscommunication.
Cam comes into session with the news that Nicolle has been flirting with a guy on Instagram. It's time to talk about sex with Jenny and Helen and Priscilla admits she's not ready to go back to work and Brian's response is what about me?
Helen wants to get married and says it may be deal breaker if Jenny doesn't propose. Cam asks Nicolle if she didn't enjoy sex would she tell him? She says she wouldn't. Brian feels he shouldn't have to initiate sex all the time.
Nicolle hates crying in front of Cam and he accuses her of crocodile tears. Jenny and Helen are given a role playing exercise to inch them closer to being intimate. Priscilla wants her own identity and risks her marriage in the process.
In the season final, shock announcements all round. Jenny and Helen finally have some big news, Brian and Priscilla have done a big U turn and Cam and Nicolle talk about getting engaged but there's one big stumbling block.
