Estrella Contreras, a single mother struggling to raise her daughter Azul, finds herself having to return to her hometown after the fateful death of her father Ulises, where she meets Fabián Bravo, a widowed father and fisherman by profession who is fighting to regain custody of his teenage daughter Yazmin. Estrella is very excited about her promotion to manager of the restaurant where she works, but unfortunately she is informed that her position will be taken by the owner's niece.
