RI:SE is a breakfast television show made by Princess Productions in collaboration with BSkyB for Channel 4 in the United Kingdom. It was scheduled to replace The Big Breakfast after declining ratings. It launched on 29 April 2002. The programme was broadcast between 06:55 and 09:00 in the morning - nationally in the UK.
This is the first show of channel 4's new breakfast show RI:SE. During the show Mark had to go to the toliet much to the surprise of Kirsty. RI:SE had there first ""REVIEW"" and most of the critics said there were a few problems but they liked what they saw.
With Big Brother 3 starting tonight, RI:SE have been given exclusive access to all the latest updates and evictee interviews. Older housemates are currently making guest slots on the show.
Marcus and Sarah were interviewed after they broke the World Record of Longest On-Screen Kiss, last night on ""Hollyoaks."" It lasted for over 3 minutes, and they revealed they had to do at least 4 takes.
Rebecca Ritters talks about her new role in Coronation Street, and Big Brother evictee, Adele gets a grilling from the viewers.
The summary contains spoilers from the film Resident Evil. Martin Crewes and Milla Jovovich discuss the long-awaited film ""Resident Evil."" Milla, was apparently begged by her younger brother to appear in the film and it's sequel, due out next year, if all goes well. Martin hasn't been invited back, as his character didn't make it through the first film and he will soon fly out to Australia. The two mentioned that the film is a prequel to the video games, and Jill Valentine will make an appearance in the 2003 sequel. As will Nemesis.
After Spencer was mocked by Liz and Edith for seeming (no more than usual) mute through the first half of the program, he seemed to have opinions on everything for the second half.
With the undecided choice of adopting children, a panda or a puppy the gang decided to leave it upto viewers and let them call in to vote. With all votes counted the puppy won by a mere 3%. Helen didn't seem too impressed by the viewers choice.
RI:SE conducted the first ever quiz on a rollercoaster. Al Convy will be in various theme parks around the UK all week on the world's scariest rollercoasters. He will ask two people 5 questions at the Rollercoasters worst and most terrifying points and whoever gets the most questions correct wins a picture phone, or a holiday.
The stars of ""The Sweetest Thing"" (Cameron, Selma and Christina) dropped by to talk about the new movie, and Selma was sporting a new (cropped) hair-do.
After the rollercoaster quiz, RI:SE are now having their questions take place on a stunt plane. The pilot will ask questions at the most difficult point.. i.e, when the plane is up-side down, or slowly turning on it's side. The person with most questions out of 5 correct wins a Holiday or Picture phone.
The studio decided to cash in on the success of 'I'm a Celebrity, Get me out of Here' and send correspondent Tom Binns to visit various celebs over the next week and scream at them 'You're a Celebrity.. Let me in There.' Today's celebs were Sam Kane and his wife Linda. When Tom finished rooting through the cupboards and cringing at their collection of music, he went outside to take a look at their garden.. only to be pushed in the swimming pool by Sam and Linda's 4 year old daughter.... Footage ended there as it was streaming live.. RI:SE also have a new competition called ""Strap me Down"" Viewers get to call in and select a member of Family or close friend they don't trust and have them answer multiple questions..(i.e ""Are you cheating on my partner?"") while hooked upto a Lie Detector. The studio have two new competitions. The first is an opportunity to win a Nokia picture phone. All you have to do to win the phone is ""Name the Face."" A certain part of a celebs face (mouth, eyes, nose) will be shown throughout the morning and you have to guess who it is. The studio are giving two phones to each winner and the competition will go on all week. The other is the chance for a nobody to become a somebody. If you're hopeless at everything RI:SE will train you to sing and dance, send you to all the right places and make you a known face. The winner will also have the opportunity to appear on US chat show ""The Jay Leno Show."" Auditions are being held tomorrow in; the Pallasades Shopping Centre East Mews Birmingham B2 4XJ Further auditions will take place on Friday in Bristol at the Gallery Shopping Centre, 12:00 noon.
Today was the last visit of ""You're a Celebrity.. Let me in There."" Today's celebs were Christine and Neil Hamilton. ""The Cheeky Girls"" Gabriela and Monica of Popstars fame also appeared in the studio and performed an extended version of their infamous song.
The RI:SE gang have a brand new competition. Following a similar pattern to the Rollercoaster challenge viewers now have the chance to win a holiday to a great European destination, by answering a few simple questions.. while being hurdled down hill in a Yoki Bob. If you're upto sphereing, zorbing (and most likely barfing?) then call 0207 805 8509 and be ready to travel to one of these locations: Swanage, Ilfracombe, Milton Keyens, Stoke or Swindon. To take up the challenge you must be under 15 stone and physically fit.. unfortunately the task requires over 18's only.
The RI:SE ""Search for a Nobody"" officially began today. With the studio presenters in charge of picking the talentless nobodies they left it upto viewers to call in and vote for the worst singer of the two. Two new faces will be shown everyday, all week, until Friday's final. The winner will be given a complete transformation, learn how to sing and dance, and the studio will put them in all the right places and make them a known face. The winner will also appear on The Jay Leno Show. After seeing one of the contestants screeching her way through Whitney's ""i will always love you"" the studio came to the conclusion that she was adding to her performance and the viewers seemed to think the same. Mat Ovens (who wrote his own song & dedicated it to the studio) won the vote with 73% on his side. This granted him a place in Friday's final, but whether he has less talent than the rest of the weeks competitors is yet to be seen. RI:SE also have a new competition giving you the chance to win a h

This will most likely replace the new ""Rollover challenge"" as Tom Binns has handed the duty of asking questions inside the sphere to Producer, Pat, who also vomited after today's challenge ended.
With Laura and Kris being the stars of the new horror film ""My Little Eye"" the studio got them to take part in some creepy task. The two had to put their hands in box without knowing what they are, and to find out exactly what the boxes contained they had to have a good feel. They actually, mostly contained soggy sausages and tomatoes, which apparently stank.
Anchor man Mark (Duds) recently branded RI:SE ""the show that keeps getting odder and odder.."" (although that's why we love it) and they probably proved it today. From bizzare quizzes on rollercoasters, stunt planes and yoki balls, to the currently on-going ""Search a Nobody"" the studio celebrated the Andrex puppy's 30th Birthday.. by bringing the original (now stuffed) Labrador itself to the studio... The Soap Awards also took place last night and 4 stars (two from Brookie, two from Hollyoaks) dropped by to dish the latest gossip. Everyone decided not to sit near Steven Fletcher, who hadn't bothered to wash or have a shave.
When interviewing Robin Williams, Duds asked him to look at photo's of his co-presenters and tell him a little about them (to co-inside with One Hour Photo.) He thought Edith and Chris wear thongs, Kirsty apparently attends Star Trek auctions (and wants a cling-on in the worse way) and Liz is a man-eater. His description of Hells Bells was to rude to air.
RI:SE have a new challenge.. for themselves. Rob Deering is the new ""TV Repair Man."" He will (try to) repair the lives of people who come out of reality tv worse for wear. Today he went to see ex-Big Brother housemate Tim Culley, who once had his car trashed after leaving the house. Nobody seemed to give a damn though. When the viewers were asked to send in nice e-mails for Tim he only recieved two. He was last seen in September on Loose Women (again, getting booed.) Today was also the final of ""Search For a Nobody."" Mark (i don't know where he's from, but who cares?) whaled Elvis' classic, Suspisious Minds. He won the competition by 2%
The TV Repair Man went to ""Survivor"" star Jennifer Adams' house. She refused to tell us what JJ is all about, so he broke an egg on her floor and later on smashed a plate. She didn't swear, but she was pretty pissed off. The two later baked a cake (in which she declined to take part) and attempted to give it to one of her neighbours, but nobody was in. Like yesterday, people were asked to send her nice emails. Someone called Dean asked her to paint her toe nails.. she gave a firm ""No"" reply and moved swiftly on.
Today the TV Repair Man went to visit Hayley Nolan.. (who bears a similarity to Big Brother 3's Lynne..) don't recognise the name? You shouldn't. She's been turned down for 10 reality tv shows! Amongst them are Big Brother, Popstars and Survivor. Rob gathered the locals around to listen to her vocal talent. Also, Liz revealed that tonight's episode of ""Faking it"" sees a 999 Operator directing RI:SE. Lynne will be on the phone tomorrow and will continue directing the OB. Tune in!
The studio brought in some Martial Arts experts and in spectacular fashion Liz, Colin and Helen attacked them all in the last minute of the show. Liz and Helen both started off pretty confident mocking the daft noises you here in movies, only to be picked up and thrown on the crash mat. Colin decided this was a great opportunity to climb on Helen, who was uncontrollably laughing. Colin didn't fair off any better... well he is abit puny isn't he? He lay ""unconcious"" as the credits rolled and Liz was still being thrown in the air. It had to be one of the funniest moments to date, on RI:SE. (Duds didn't take part.)
RI:SE have a brand new challenge. ""Iron guts"" is pretty much a self-explanatory title. All you have to do is eat as much foul tasting food as you can handle. Contestants will most likely throw up, so you have to avoid this as long as you can. Although after seeing the VD clip many people may be seeing their breakfast again, by just watching. If you have Iron guts then call 020 7805 8530. The competition takes place in London.. no details yet on what the prizes are. The studio have a new comp, which gives viewers the chance to win 2k. (Courtesy of Warners, who are trying their best to sell of Ocean's Eleven. Video stores refused to sell it at the price Warners proposed. Both being stubborn, the film is in some trouble.) So anyways, all viewers have to do is name three celebrity faces (chosen by a jackpot machine) call in and say what links the three. Today's were Robbie Williams, Jimi Mistry and Emma Bunton... who all appeared in EastEnders. Ed Sanders, the new reporter, also hosted Iron guts. The competitors had to either eat (actually, they had to scoff) either Ed's left over Curry or some Apple Pie. Being the generous viewers we all are, the two were forced to eat Ed's curry.. then be spun around in a Theme Park ride after eating 20 pickled onions (on top of the curry.) All before 7:30am. Unfortunately time ran over in the studio, so we never got to see who won the Playstation 2. Big Brotherz also performed their debut, Nu Flow.
The studio also had Naomi Roper, from Fame Academy, on the phone to discuss why she was asked to leave. Unfortunately for her, it was all due to a throat infection, and she had already been replaced. Celebrity Jackpot: Gareth Gates, Chris Moyles and Ken Hom. Link - They all support Leeds United.
With the National Television Awards airing last night, Edith interviewed all the stars as they came down the red carpet. Amongst them were; Carol Vorderman, Graham Norton, Ant McPartlin, Cat Deely (who hired a bodyguard for her diamonds) Davina McCall and Anne Robinson also spoke to Edith.. about Mark. Davina told Edith that she thinks ""he's lovely,"" while Anne Robinson asked Edith for Mark's number, for her daughter! If anyone can remember about a month back, there were stories in a national newspaper, where Ulrika Johnson was apparently asking after Mark. Views on Mark seemed to have changed since the late 1990's, when critics cruely branded him ""the new Des Lynam"" when he used to host a range of shows on Sky Sports. Fashion critics Trinny and Susannah also mentioned that they bumped into Ulrika, at last nights awards.. to tell her she'd put her dress on back-to-front. Mark said goodbye to his pretty-boy hair gel in aid of a dare - to have his head flushed in a toilet. There were three challenges: chewing on the hottest chilli pepper, pole dancing, or sticking his head down the toilet. He didn't get to choose which one he would take up, but he was a great sport anyway. The presenters also asked for viewers views on Britains Worst people. (As opposed to Sundays documentary featurting the best.) A few mentioned were; David Seaman, Edwina Curry, Darren Day, Christopher Biggins, Abs Breen, Sean Connery and Jamie Oliver. Edith also mentioned that she's not too keen on Victoria Harvey and Kirsty (who had her first time behind the desk) can't stand the sight [and voice] of Ken Livingston. RI:SE have another brand new, unique, competition. Replacing Ironguts (which lasted one show) we now have ""The RI:SE Ultimate Hero"" Todays challenge was - Rain of Flour. Competitors attempted to clear a 6 foot pole ensuring that a bag of flour hits the target [their face] on the other side. Whoever does this the most times in 30 seconds returns to the final, on Friday. There are no fancy prizes, just your regular Trophie. Bizzare, but highly entertaining.
Todays 'RI:SE Ultimate Hero' contestants took part in - Shot the shoe. They had 20 seconds to build momentum. They then had to harness the power of a common park swing using it to shot a shoe as far as possible. Canadian, Jonny won with 48 feet. Celebrity Jackpot: Lisa Faulkner, Angelina Jolie and Nicole Appleton. Link - They've all dated Jonny Lee Miller. The winner won a trip to Amsterdam. New band Ryze performed their single In My Life.
RI:SE Ultimate Hero contestants took part in - Dropping the Egg. Both competitors took it in turn to demonstrate their accuracy in a sudden death penalty shoot out. The title is won by making contact with the target. Danny's boxers, stacked with eggs. Yesterdays winner from Canada won both rounds and returns tomorrow. Celebity Jackpot: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kelsey Grammer and Charlotte Church. Link: They all share the same Birthday. The prize was a Widescreen tv + DVD player.
Todays ""RI:SE Ultimate Hero"" challenge was: Rollerscate Tug of War. Both competitors must find balance on rollerscates and take the strain. Whoever falls is pulled into the opposite contestans area or loses grip of the rope, loses. Celebrity Jackpot: Jennifer Lopez, Sadie Frost and P. Diddy. Link - They all have their own clothing range.
With two [more] of the Casualty stars in the studio, Mark had the shows recipe for vomit sent in. When it was all mixed together (using a blender) he spewed it everywhere. Ultimate Hero Challenge: Pumpkin Punch-up. Each competitor wears a giant pumpkin on their heads. Attached to the pumpkin is a spooky black cat. When battle commences each contestant tries to knock the toycat off their opponents head. The prize was a gamecube. Celebrity Jackpot: Donatella Versace, Jennifer Lopez and Geri Halliwell. Ultimate Hero challenge: Slamming Pumpkins. Each competitor gets three chances to throw a spooky Halloween pumpkin into a baseketball hoop. The highest score wins, but a draw results in some slam dunking. Celebrity Jackpot: Honor Blackman, Teri Hatcher and Denise Richards. Link - They've all played Bond girls.
Ultimate Hero Challenge (winter special): Lazy Boy Challenge Competitors mount their recliners, assume the racing position and race to the finish. Contestants foots are allowed to touch the floor to slow the chair down. Celebrity Jackpot: Phil Mitchell, Tom Banks and Simon Wicks. Link - They've all dated Sharon.
Ultimate Hero Challenge: Canoe Carnage Our hero hopefuls mount their canoe's and steer their way down the snow. Destruction of the canoe or their opponent results in immediate disqualification. Celebrity Jackpot: Claire Strutton, Helen Adams and Sophie Pritchard. Link - They've all been in Big Brother and dated/are dating one of the housemates they spent time with.
Ultimate Hero: Human Hurling The ""human stone"" is pushed across the ice in a bucket. The contestant nearest the mark wins. Celebrity Jackpot: Jade Goody, Paul Burrell and Jimmy Gulzar. Link - They've all sold their stories to a tabloid paper. With many of the female viewers (and celebrity's) recently e-mailing in and complimenting Mark, the studio brought in three women for him to choose from to take out on a date. (Why he needed ITV's Mr ""Right"" to help him stumped me.) Mark got rid of one of the women before 8:00am, but needed The Big Three to make his final choice. He eventually made his decision (and seemingly the right one) at 8:55!

Celebrity Jackpot now has a few new rules. Probably because the answers are slightly easy, and the studio are giving 2k away, for the second time. Once a caller gets the link correct they win 100, but they can gamble for 500. The caller choses one of the three faces on the fruit machine and to win 500 there has to be one photo matching the celebrity the caller chose. If two matching pictures come up they can gamble their 500 for the full 2k. To win it all the money, all three pictures on the machine have to match. If they don't, the caller gets their original prize money. The rules out of the way, here's todays details. Celebrity Jackpot: Keith Duffy, Brian Dowling and Tom McDermot. Link - They're all Irish. One caller, the first in fact, said they were all in the BB House. It was true, but the answer was too much of a giveaway for 2k.

Mark Owen was most popular to be next out with 35% while Les only had 2% The studio & guests made it clear that they weren't impressed by the viewers choice to boot Mark out, by booing. Ralf had four Miss UK's (from Bolton etc..) to choose from for a date. They had three challenges: Down a pint in one. As it was too early for beer, they had water instead. The second was to name something they'd do for their high street. And the third was to show some knowledge in sports. (All they actually did was bat a ball, as opposed to trivia.)
Kirsty's weather in a colour was Grey. Edith told a story about how yesterday she saw Jeremy Clarkson trying hard to get into a parking space and when she drove passed in her car he had gone to find an easier space to get into. Because most of the teachers in london and the south east are on strike today the studio was turned into a classroom, with Mark as the headmaster. He gave three lesson's. my favourite was Mark trying to teach us how to say fireman in french. Kirsty gave Mark a hit over the backside with the cane after he ran over to the newswall and asked for it. Great viewing. Edith confessed that she has a friend that got food poisoning from Britney Spears's restaurant. Mark read out a magazine artical about Edith and Dougie getting close and kissing at a party. There was a chicken pen in the studio today to see which of the Big Brother house mates they wanted to go. During the show they escaped from the pen four times. For the weather at 7:05 Hells Bells put on a muti-colour jumper. There was not a weather in a word today, but in a kung foo move. RI:SE were the first TV show in the U.K to show clips of the 2nd season of ""The Osbournes"". While Dougie was doing a live link up to the Big Brother house interviewing Vanessa Feltz the guys back in the studio were doing a poll between there selfs to see how good she looked. they said she was looking Foxy. When Chris was about to introduce Hells to do the sport he pointed out that the autocue said Kirsty instead of Helen. Possible the best moment of RI:SE since it started: Chris Rogers hypnotizing a chicken! it sort of worked, but the best thing was that the chicken done a poo on Chris and the newswall floor. Dougie was joined at the big brother house by the characters from the BT ads. Word in a summary - Look Out The Window! Hells was taking her anger out on the newswall with a stick when she was doing the Big Brother poll saying that she was have a Davina moment. Helen got all excited at 8:07 when Chris winked at her. I think there something going on between them two! Hells put on another of her muticolour jumpers and some glasses for the weather. Mark spent all morning looking at the new Caprice calendar. Last night during the live Big Brother show Davina showed a clip to Sue of RI:SE with Helen doing the Big Brother poll. Tara PT was talking about her appearing on Blind Date and said that the guy she dated was to old for her and that she was holding out for Mark. Dougie was in the camera run of the Big Brother house. RI:SE were getting into the Christmas spirit today. at the start and end of every part of the show, snowflakes fly across the screen and then turn into the RI:SE logo. For the News, Sport and Entertainment bulletins, snow falls down the screen and piles up at the bottom. Mark told us all that Kirsty has 3 spots on her chin. Kirsty said that it was because she had a facial. With Celebrity Big Brother over Dougie had a new slot to present ""National Pass The Parcal"" One of the TV's on the newswall was broken today, Mark told Kirsty to get it fixed by the next time they used it it was fixed. Weather in a school report: Must try harder. Strap me down was back for the first time in a few weeks. Coolio told Kirsty and Liz to get up and he teached them his new dance to his new song. Coolio kept on saying that he wanted to get naked in the studio! Going into the break at 8:52 Kirsty began to read the autoque but then stoped, i think that it was something to do with her spots. After a load of e-mails and 2 phone calls from production I was standing outside Charing Cross station waiting for a car to pick me up and bring me to the RI:SE studios. At 6:20 it arrived and a very nice car it was too! The car dropped me and my friend off in the car park of whitely shopping centre, we then followed the signs up to the studio where Sara one of the production team greeted us and showed us where to sign in. As we were waiting to be told where to go we were asked to wait in reception as was a very tired Dougie!! He spent a few minutes talking to the textecution contestants and then went off down the corridor. At about 6:40 we were taken in to a room were we got to have breakfast and read the daily papers, and then we had a practice on clapping. At 6:50 we were taken in to the studio and told where to sit, me and my mate got to sit around the big table near the video wall, Edith and Iain was already sitting in their chairs and started talking to members of the audience.

RI:SE The RI:SE crew has nicknamed Kate ""Katie Bear"" At the start of the show Tony was making coffee for one of the RI:SE crew. 2 girls were in the RI:SE studio getting football shirts painted onto their bodies. Iain was mad with Rik the paper boy for not sorting out the papers for him, Rik said he didn't have time even though he had been at the studio since 5am. Iain said he likes boobs. Mike was bacl in the studio after represeting RI:SE at the NIKE freestyle awards he got to the final and came 4th out of 6,000. Iain told Mike that he will teach him how to do a robot dance later on in the show. Uri was back at RI:SE towers to talk about ""I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here"". Uri told Iain and Kate that the contestants in the jungle are getting payed up to £25,000 and if a celeb gets bitten by a snake they get payed one million pounds. Menskie and Uri sang an updated track of Url's 70s hit. Uri gave him a vinale copy of his 70s track. At the start of the show Iain thanked Zora for looking so great and keeping us updated on all the news. Iain told us that he saw Kate naked a few days ok. ""Date Kates Mates"" was back again today, this weeks contestant was Nathen he was looking for a man to love. Coming back into the show at 7:09 Iain and Kate did'nt know they were back on air.
