WWII in the Pacific focuses on the events, notable figures, various bands of brothers, and heroic actions of the Allied powers. Take an inside look, starting with the conflict and tensions leading up to the war, the attack on Pearl Harbor, the evolution of the Pacific Theater, and the development and dropping of the atomic bomb, up until the subsequent end of WWII.
On December 7, 1941 Japan gambles all and attacks the US. In the first months of the war it looks as though Japan is unbeatable. Then the US fights back. The War in the Pacific engulfs Asia and launches an entirely new form of naval warfare.
By the summer of 1942, the US has the upper hand in the war with Japan. It has achieved Naval superiority. In the Spring of 1945 the loss of life is great for both sides but Japan refuses to surrender. US Chiefs desperately look for a way to end the war.
The war is turning America's way. Yet Japan is determined to kill as many Americans as possible and fight to the death. The question is, does the US have the stomach for the fight? Or will a secret US weapon offer a way out and saves GI's lives?
