Ten candidates have to complete assignments to earn money. However, one of the group members is the Mole. The Mole's goal is to make the assignments fail and keep the amount of money earned as low as possible. The other candidates do not know who the Mole is and need to unmask them. At the end of every episode, the candidates take a multiple-choice test about the mole's identity. The person who gives the least amount of correct answers is "executed" and must leave. This process continues until only two contestants and the Mole remain. The winner is the person with the most correct answers in the final test and they get all of the money earned in previous stages of the game.
9 contestants and 1 mole (mol). The nine contestants have to complete a series of challenges. When challenges are successfully completed, a certain amount of money is earned. When a challenge is lost, money can be lost, depending on the challenge. The tenth contestant is the mole: a saboteur. He should deliberately sabotage as many of the challenges as possible. The mole has to stay undercover as the contestants are trying to find the mole. At the end of every 2 days the contestants get 20 questions about the mole. Who ever knows least about the mole gets eliminated and goes home. At the end of the series 3 candidates are left: the loser, the winner and the mole. The winner gets all the money gathered by the contestants. The mole cannot win any money.
Rik van de Westelaken meets the ten contestants. For the first time since their adventure in Cambodia the ten of them are back as a group. How where the last few months of keeping everything a secret? Together they look back at their adventure, look ahead on what the coming season will bring and they'll give an exclusive view into their preperations and strategy. The ideal moment for the viewer to meet these ten contestants, and for the group it's the moment to watch the first sneak-peak of the season together..
Art Rooijakkers takes the ten contestants to Iceland and immedeately sends them on a mission, on a big glacier. That's where the search for the mole, and the survival to stay in the game, starts in all it's intensity.
In their search for the mole the contestants climb some stairs, drive in certain lines on a big plain of ash and try to communicate with smoke-signals.
The dropout gets to enjoy a traditional Dutch game and some sight-seeing in Reykjavik before it's time to leave. The fact that the jokers just got introduced into this season are too late for him to make a difference...
The seven remaining contestants in the grim and chilly Iceland are still on the hunt for the mole in their midst. But hope is dawning: negotiations are in progress that could bring a bright future.
The season is on the halfway-point and its every man for themselves. Opponents are shoved out of the way without warning and for one of the contestants this will mean they'll have to leave the game. The fact that everyone has their own problems, becomes very clear for the remaining contestants.

The last three contestents of this season get a big surprise when waking up on a haciënda. Will they be able to get in time to their biggest challenge thus far; the very last test that will decide both the loser and the winner of this season.

The first episode of the thirteenth season of Who is the Mole? is a first encounter with South-Africa and all it's diversity. The contestants will ascend to great hights while possibly also descending into the depths. Whether this will bring in money for the pot all depends on their trust in their colleagues. Keeping in mind that there is a mole in their midst.
Is the African language easy to pick up, or complete gibberish for the contestants? And, are they going quicker than lightspeed? Both the pot as the contestants depend on it.
