We Gon' Be Alright explores those "in-betweeners" who feel the effects of blatant racism and microaggressions, stereotyping, gentrification, and of being in between two worlds, not by choice but by design. The flaws of the census box are reflected in the stories of people like Rafael Casal, actor who starred in the film Blindspotting and who defines himself as a white Latino, and organizer/activist Linda Sarsour, who exists in an interesting space as both a woman of faith and a progressive, and as a Muslim American woman who is labeled by the census as "white."
