H.H. Holmes builds a three-story hotel in Chicago where he tortures and kills an untold number of people visiting the city for the 1893 World's Fair.
After years of preparation, the city of Chicago opens the Chicago World's Fair - a 600-acrea modern marvel meant to memorialize the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' discovery of the New World. But as America's best and brightest engineers race to construct the fairgrounds, Dr. H.H. Holmes is constructing his own architectural "masterpiece" - THE MURDER CASTLE. Under the guise of a hotel, the castle is a dark and dangerous death trap filled with staircases to nowhere, sealed "death rooms" and a labyrinth that leads guests to their final resting place.
By May 1893, Chicago's World's Fair is in full swing. Dr. H.H. Holmes welcomes visitors to his hotel, a block-long structure designed to lure young women into his clutches. Before long, he makes each mysteriously vanish, never to be seen again.

Dr. H.H. Holmes is America's first serial killer. He built his Castle with stolen money and keeps business brisk with stolen bodies. But when detectives begin closing in, Holmes invents new scams...in order to fund his final escape from Chicago.
