The Max Headroom Show started life in the UK in 1985. The show featured actor Matt Frewer playing the role as computer-generated talk-show host Max Headroom.
The full-length Christmas special, produced as an additional episode of the third season. It premiered in the US as "The Max Headroom Christmas Special" but retained the UK title within the show. UK viewers saw this special as the lead-in to the third season episodes.
Christmas Special starts with Max talking about Christmas, he's outside singing a song with kids, lots of kids come into Max's studio/house, Max talks about how tough Xmas was when he was young, choir kids singing a carol, sings with Bob Geldof in the studio/house, Max sings a duet with himself about Rayban shades, he sings a closing song at the piano while kids build a snowman. Country Theme: How Christmas is spent around the world (Australia, Russia, Himalayas, Japan, China, Bethlehem. Videos: Dave Edmunds - Run Rudolph Run Guests: Dave Edmunds talks about spending a lot of time in the studio. Bob Geldof talks about his album, charts, Paranoimia hit with Art of Noise, they make fun of crooners. Robin Williams via another TV, talks about Christmas, Golf, sings a Jesus Rap. Tina Turner brings Max a present, talks Christmas, her new album, acting, Max sleepwear.

And then Max in English: "And this week's award for the worst TV commercial goes to..." A new rock video series. Among those featured in this programme are Makromad, King Kurt and Cabaret Voltaire. Macro Mad (sic) is actually referring to the German band, Makromad, who someone remembers as being the first video of the first show! The song was "Tausend Tage Fete" (1984). TV Times mentions that videos from Go West, Bauhaus and Billy Idol were also featured.
