The show focuses on the Brown family, an upper middle-class American family, living in Los Angeles. The matriarch is Tammie Brown, a semi-retired singer, mother, and passionate homemaker. This 3-part limited series explores the ups and downs of a not so typical American household.
The Browns adjust to a new normal when Tammie's ailing father moves in. Later, Tammie heads down to Mexico for a cabaret gig, where tensions with her best friend, Sheila, reach an all time high.
The Browns struggle to acclimate to Tammie's new level of fame and fortune. A commercial audition gone wrong shed's light on Sheila's lack of qualifications as Tammie's new manager.
Tammie's fame continues to skyrocket, the trust and loyalty of those closest to her comes into question. When the tabloid press goes after Tammie, things take a turn for the worse.
Tammie Brown has been missing for months. Sheila finds her in a surprising hideaway and tries to convince her to return home. Back at the house, the family is in full disarray.

With his music video debut in full swing, Billy and Sheila are completely unaware that danger looms outside. Tammie and Jackson decided that the best way to save their son is to kidnap him. Katya and Honey Davenport guest star.
