The Beggar Bride was a British two-part television programme adapted from the Gillian White novel of the same name.
Angela Harper decides to save her family from the poverty trap by embarking on a bigamous marriage with a rich man.
Ange finds she needs all her ingenuity to survive the pitfalls of being married to both her original husband Billy and, bigamously, to the wealthy industrialist Sir Fabian Ormerod. Soon she realises it is time to end the lies.
