Sune, an 11 year old boy struggles with girl troubles and school while he and his goofy family prepares for Christmas with failed attempts at all of the usual December traditions.
Christmas is soon upon the Andersson family and everything the holiday calls for – baking, tree shopping, decorating the house, present shopping and wrapping – are dealt with in the peculiar ways of the family members.
The yearly family photo is to be taken.
Sune spends some time with his friend Sophie, helping her dress her dolls. After a while he gets the feeling someone is watching them from Sophie's closet.
The snow has finally appeared. Sune and his brother Håkan want to ski and ask their dad for help.
Sune goes shopping for a Christmas present for Sophie.
A case of the "shriek and shout" disease hits Sune while at the library with his class.
