Since 15 years ago, no new lives are born... and no one can die. Then, "gravekeepers" appeared in the world, with the ability to give rest to the living dead. Therefore the people said, "God abandoned the World". Ai who is 12 years old, one of "gravekeepers". Her life changes, when an immortal gunman named Hampnie Hambart murders the residents of her small village. She learns the "truth of the world" from him, and decides to travel in order to save the world.
A special OAV of Sunday Without God, included in the final Blu-ray/DVD volume of the series. This bonus OAV is separated into three parts. In the first part, taking place before the characters reach Ostia, Ai and the others visit a hot spring. In the second part, Alice remembers the times he killed his classmates and encounters Hampnie Hambart. A battle ensues. In the third and final part, Hampnie dreams of when he first met Hana and is then woken up by Ai.
Ai is a merry gravekeeper, spending her days digging empty graves for the villagers. No one has died in the village since her mother passed away years ago, but that is all about to change with the appearance of a handsome young man...
