Private Secretary is an American sitcom that aired from February 1, 1953 to September 10, 1957 on CBS, alternating with The Jack Benny Program on Sundays at 7:30pm EST. The series stars Ann Sothern as Susan Camille "Susie" MacNamara, devoted secretary to handsome talent agent Peter Sands, played by Don Porter.
A young boy has a crush on Susie and insists on coming between her and a man.
Carl Evans hires Susie away from Peter Sands by offering her more pay ($48 more a week); at first, she turns him down, but when Peter Sands tells her he can ""get along without her,"" she consents to move. She has a palatial new office, but is quickly bored, and eventually finds that Carl Evans does not listen to her advice the way Peter Sands used to. In order to get herself fired, she botches his coffee, wears ugly glasses, refuses to answer the phone, and spends hours on the phone with her friend Sylvia. He finally fires her and she goes back to Peter Sands, who rewards her with an expensive ($67.79) hat that she has been longing to buy.
