Porkpie was a British sitcom on Channel 4 television starring Ram John Holder as Augustus "Porkpie" Grant. It was a spinoff from Desmond's. Porkpie kept several key characters from Desmond's and in the first episode Grant was seen standing outside the barbershop Desmond used to run, saying: "Desmond, since you died it hasn't stopped raining. I know how much you used to say it can rain in England, and it's true. Must be one of two things: either a thousand angels weeping for you, or you having a good drink up in heaven and you spilling it all over the place."
Porkpie borrows a pound from Michael and uses it to buy a winning lottery ticket, to the tune of £10 million.
With his lottery winnings banked, Porkpie buys a new car and goes shopping for a country estate.
Porkpie decides to hire a maid, and invest his money in an Arts Centre for the people of Peckham.
Porkpie's Art Centre finally opens.
A paranoid Porkpie lays traps for his friends, convinced they only like him for his money.
Love is in the air for Porkpie when he meets a drama teacher at the Art Centre. Meanwhile, Mandy tries her hardest to persuade an unenthusiastic Michael into starting a family of their own.
Porkpie returns from Guyana holiday to discover he may have fathered a child some forty years ago, after a passionate night with Sexy Sheila the Potato Peeler from the chip shop.
On Valentine's Day, love is all around, as Michael and Mandy spend the day in bed and Porkpie has a surprise visitor from Jamaica.
Susu alienates all of Porkpie's friends, while Leone moves in with Michael and Mandy.
The doctor insists that Michael and Mandy are trying too hard for a baby, and should spend a fortnight apart. Michael stays with Porkpie while Mandy hits the town with Leone, but fate draws them back together sooner than planned.
When Benji's psychopathic ex turns up, he pretends Leone is his new partner, which sends her into a violent frenzy. Meanwhile, Porkpie opens a financial clinic to help the people of Peckham.
Michael is held hostage by kidnappers who demand £500,000 from Porkpie for his safe return.
