British adaption of the American MTV series Pimp My Ride, featuring one car in each episode being renovated and customized ("pimped") to match the owner's interests.
MTV’s Pimp My Ride UK – the number one car modification show – has ramped things up a gear with a half hour special programme Pimp My Riot Van. Host Tim Westwood and his team of A-list mechanics take on their worthiest challenge yet as they put a battered old police riot van to good use transforming it into a music-based youth centre on wheels. Specially commissioned for London-based youth charity XLP, backed by EMI and the Metropolitan Police, the riot van undergoes a Transformers-like reinvention and is kitted out with some of the smartest, slickest and most high tech equipment the team has ever used. Enough to fulfil any wannabe musician’s dream, the piéce de résistance is a fully functioning recording studio, complete with a mixing desk, pro-speakers and subs, wireless laptops and even a sound proof booth for budding singers and rappers to lay down their latest lyrics.

Ride Owner: Asif Nawab, Male. Owner's Ride: 1989 VW Golf Mark II Asif, a football coach has tried to do some DIY on his ride but it's all gone horribly wrong. His stereo is held in with coins, the speakers are a disgrace. This guy has only only 1 thing right and that's change the gear stick nob, something that anyone could do right!
Ride Owner: Jay Rotheram, Male. Owner's Ride: 1986 Ford Granada Hearse. Yes this is a Hearse, also known as a Funeral Car, and Jay has one! He is in a rock band and uses the car to take his instruments around! He said he aint creeped out by it's previous use because ""they"" were in a box and didn't leave any mess.
Ride Owner: Armick Abolian, Male. Owner's Ride: 1987 Fiat Panda 750CC. Armick said that he likes the ""Shape"" of this car, what is he thinking, it's a box!! The driver's side window does not even stay up, the seat's have the ""granny seat"" style beaded mat, the seats are basically curtain poles and a bit of material on it! His sound system consists of a MP3 player hooked up to some bedroom speakers. Plans to go around Europe in the car, but in it's current state there is no chance of that!
Chris won his car in a Poker game. Due to the rough condition of the bodywork, a mint-condition donor car was used for its parts.
