Pørni is about the dilemmas that you end up in when you, to the best of your abilities, try to do the right thing for your loved ones, and yourself. In that order. Pørni has two daughters with a jerk of an ex who has moved to Copenhagen, who focuses mainly on himself.
Pørni works for the Child Protection Agency, which does not always make her popular. There is also a lot going on at home. She tries not to let her daughters see that their father is uninterested.
At work, Pørni encounters all sorts of children in sad situations, but things are not always going well for her own children either. Pørni's love life is not going as she had hoped either.
