Guy Martin's love of industry and endeavour leads him to China, where he reveals the unseen side of its innovation, technological development and gigantic manufacturing.

Martin starts in Chongqing, fastest growing city in the world, where he works in a factory to build his own electric motorbike, and is astonished by the lack of automation. Later he visits the world’s biggest hydroelectric plant, the Three Gorges Dam, and at the other end of the plumbing hierarchy, the world’s biggest public convenience

Guy builds his own electric motorbike in a factory in Chongqing, the fastest growing city in the world, before visiting the world's biggest public toilet and heading along the Yangtze towards Shanghai.

Guy explores Beijing, buying a rudimentary Flying Pigeon bicycle, finding out how China's super-rich live, and racing the 'Nigel Mansell of rickshaws' around the tight and twisty backstreets.

Guy concludes his Chinese adventure by attempting to break the record for the fastest crossing of the vast Taklaman Desert - the 'desert of death' - on a bicycle.
