Paul Finchley is a bona fide "national treasure", one half of a popular, long-running comedy double act. The famous comedian's world is thrown into chaos when he is accused of historic sexual abuse.
When a celebrated comedian faces accusations of sexual assault in the twilight of his career, the fallout affects everyone involved in different ways.
Paul Finchley, a much-loved, ageing comedian finds his world shaken to its foundations after an accusation of rape that dates back to the 1990s.
Paul and his family have to deal with the pressure of the mounting allegations against him. Dee confronts her former babysitter, Christina, now one of Paul's accusers. Paul gives a radio interview, determined to put his side of the story.
Marie encounters with one of her husband's accusers, and is left shaken by a difficult interview with his barrister. Gary manages to dig up some evidence that seems to thoroughly discredit one of Paul's key accusers but making use of this new knowledge will mean Paul has to make an uncomfortable decision.
Paul and his family head for court to face the accusers and await the verdict. Paul has his own ideas about how to proceed. However, it seems that Karl may hold the key to determining the outcome of the trial. Dee starts to suspect that Marie's faith in her husband's innocence may be wavering.
