A British family, the Pembertons, decide it’s time to leave rainy England and move to the sunshine state of Florida. They've bought an RV Park with plans for a booming family-run business, but it soon turns out that they are not going to be living the dream they hoped.
The Pembertons pack up their home in not-so-sunny Yorkshire and head for Florida and the promise of beautiful weather at the Kissimmee Sunshine Park. What dad Mal discovers upon their arrival is ... not quite as he'd expected.
Having packed it all in for a life in the sun, things aren't quite going to plan for Mal, Jen and the kids. Mal's battling to keep the peace with burly park resident Troy and Tina and Freddie struggle to get to grips with life in an American high school. Meanwhile, Jen's in for an unexpected makeover when Rhonda invites her to a ladies' lunch.
The park's septic tank explodes and Mal and Jen are forced to turn to the only sewage expert around: Mayor Herman Bloch, the eccentric father of Tina's new boyfriend. Meanwhile, Freddie struggles to find his place at school, and Conan looks to take his and Tina's relationship to a whole new level... and it's not one Tina was expecting.
Troy's wrestling nemesis rocks up demanding a rematch to settle old scores. It's good news for Mal, who sees it as a chance to put his RV park on the map.
Jen's horrified when her over-critical mum shows up three weeks early. Mal and Freddie hatch a money-making scheme that means hosting a rather unusual wedding.
A lawyer's letter delivers Mal and Jen another blow. They need to track down the park's mystery co-owner. And to do so, they'll need the residents' help.

An attempted burglary triggers Mal to buy a gun in episode one, and that means going behind Jen's back. And there are some very dodgy brownies on offer when they are invited to their new nextdoor neighbours. As for the kids, Tina tries to find a way to dump boring boyfriend Conan without breaking his heart and Freddie worries his mum when he starts falling for the class bad girl.
There's major tension when Mal has to fire Jen from the park. And, the stress continues for Mal when a bunch of no-hopers apply for her job.
Mal's angry with Jen so Marvin takes him hunting to let off some steam. But after a few beers, they wind up in a world of trouble.
The Pembertons go all out for Mal's 50th. And the park residents have a surprise, too. Mal gets his dad groove on when he ends up at a rave.
It's the RV Park of The Year Awards, and Kissimmee Sunshine RV Park could win Best Park. Mal is certain that the judges are staying in the Park and everyone's a suspect.
Mayor Herman Bloch is up for re-election and has made it his campaign promise to shut down RV Parks. Mal is furious and decides to get someone from the park to run against him for ...
