LIS follows four ambitious medical interns working at a struggling Norwegian hospital. Facing the harsh realities of an overstretched medical system, with rising patient numbers and dwindling resources, the young interns grapple with the complex ethical dilemmas of providing care in a system stretched to its limits. They will learn that compassion alone may not be enough, and they are forced to grow in ways they never expected.

Petra and the other young LIS doctors have just started their rotation at the hospital. A dramatic six months will bind them closely together.

During her first night shift, Petra is the only one responsible in a situation that could be fatal if even one mistake takes place.

Anders and the other doctors have to deal with a serious traffic accident that demands everything from them. Meanwhile, when an elderly man is dying, Petra must deal with his demanding relatives.

Petra gets a challenge after a patient has fallen from the third floor. Meanwhile, Joakim shows a new side of himself.

A man without an ID is admitted, and Petra and Joakim try to figure out who he is. Samuel struggles a bit with his role as a doctor when dealing with demanding patients.

There is a waiting list volunteering, and Bjørn Ivar invites people to dinner to appease the overworked surgeons. Petra welcomes a patient who has fallen at a party.

A.K. fights on several fronts. A homeless man with an infected wound is admitted. Petra tries to show care while the system around her falters.

Bjørn Ivar is hiking when he gets chest pains, and is admitted to the emergency room. And panic takes over Joakim who tries to be both a doctor and a son.

The hospital gets flooded with people who've been injured due to an explosion that has occurred in the city center. And it's up to Petra, Joakim and the team to work hard to save lives in chaotic conditions.
