Based on the memoirs of Eugène-François Vidocq, this series follows the adventures of this former convict turned policeman in the early 19th century. In these new adventures, Vidocq comes up against a ravishing “baronne”, a formidable gang leader. The cases entrusted to Vidocq are not only police affairs, but also delicate, political and even diplomatic affairs.
Appointed head of the new Paris police force, Vidocq has to deal with the “chauffeurs du Nord”, a gang of farm robbers, royalist murders and riots in Toulon. But his main threat is the Baroness, who heads up the “Knights of the Night” organization, which is multiplying its plots against him.
In the midst of the turbulent period between Napoleon's Hundred Days and the definitive establishment of the Restoration, Vidocq must foil an attempt on the Emperor's life and face the disgrace caused by the return of the monarchy. And of course, the machinations hatched by the Machiavellian Baroness continue...
