Insomniac with Dave Attell is a television show on Comedy Central hosted by comedian Dave Attell which ran from August 5, 2001 until November 11, 2004.
Comedian Dave Attell, host of Comedy Central's Insomniac, knows how to turn wanderlust into an unbroken string of all-night partying. In this Best of Insomniac volume, Attel hits no fewer than five major North American cities using the same game plan: Stake out a comedy club, then prowl the streets for girls to chat up, guys to taunt, bars to close, and assorted weird, weird stuff to see, all inexplicably taking place while most of the continent is taking its beauty rest. The garrulous Attell insinuates his way into late-night karate lessons in New York, ice-fishing in Montreal, a geek-heavy sci-fi convention in Chicago, and the usual blur of human revelry on New Orleans's Bourbon Street. If a random encounter turns into a memory, great; if not, we just move on. Highlights include a dog-friendly pub, fishy initiation rites, and capricious nudity.
Dave takes on New York the only way it should be done, at night. He'll visit an S&M Club, go for a late night horseback ride with the New York Federation of Black Cowboys and take a look behind the early morning scenes of Wall Street. And don't forget to stay wake for the first fortune cookie of the day.

It may not be Mardi Gras but it's a party every night of the week. Dave takes it to the street in the Big Easy, to find out what's going on at the world famous Bourbon Street. Afterward he'll visit a voodoo temple and hunt some swamp dwelling nutria with the help of the local authorities.
Dave does stand up at Laff Stop and then enjoys all that Houston has to offer. He goes to the rodeo and turns out the lights at Enron Field to end his night.

He's Back! Dave ends his season where it all began, back in New York. This time he checks out a fetish party, visits a fish market, has a few drinks, and even has enough money left over to go bowiling with an escort. Then it's "last call" for the season as finally Dave gets some much deserved rest.
Dave has a busy night in Chicago as he sees an amateur wrestling match, goes to a Star Trek convention, and gets insulted while ordering cheese fries.

Dave spends some time in Montreal and visits a sex convention, watches some hockey, and goes ice fishing.

Dave's back in New York to once again end a long season without sleep. First he's off to Queens to attend some late night Karate lessons, then it's off to the Brooklyn Ale House for a real "Dog Party." Next, he hits the set of "Guiding Light" to get a behind the scenes look, then gets a behind the "news counter" look at a news stand. Finally, it's off to see the Sandman back at his apartment.
Standup: Zanies. Stops Include: J.O.B Billiards, some cleaning at the Madam X Bookstore, Printers Alley, a look at a vampire role-playing game, a taste of East Nashville Prince's Hot Chicken, and helps deliver East Nashville Purity Milk.
Dave journeys to a place where almost anything's legal, Amsterdam. So he tries to and stays up late to commit all 7 deadly sins.
Dave's off to jolly old England to take in new the late night adventures into.
Dave's up all night deep in the heart of Texas. He's up late taking in an all-girl roller derby match and making geek-speak with the Austin Robot Group.
Dave's out late in an island paradise as he crosses a few miles to visit Hawaii. He hangs with a Private Investigator, does a duet with Don Ho, and drag races in a taxi cab.
