The life and times of an urban, bilingual, environmentally conscious left-wing couple in their thirties: Aino, who’s originally from Finnish Lapland, and Swedish-speaking Micke. They are forced to move to an upper-class neighborhood, into an apartment owned by Micke’s wealthy parents, who also live next door. When Aino’s yokel brother moves into their guest room, people from all walks of life meet under the same roof.
Aino and Micke have to move to a new, bigger home. Both have their own views on how the extra room should be used.
Micke encounters his former business partner Saku, and Aino a surprising distraction. Encounters lead to conflicts that both resolve in their own way.
Aino and Micke find a woman in the gateway about to pass out. Who should help and who should be helped?
Aino is invited to the first crayfish party of her life at the home of her parents-in-law Lasse and Gunilla. A surprise visit from Aino's relatives falls on the same day. Whose relatives are more tiresome?
Aino and Micke do their best to cheer up Aino's brother, Jussi, who is depressed.
Aino doesn't want to take advantage of Micke's parents' connections and networks. Micke tries to strike a balance between views.
