Matt Cassidy and Jennifer Barnes are reluctantly paired to anchor the news at a fictional TV station in Boston, Massachusetts, due to the sudden ratings drop.
Matt Cassidy is disappointed to find that his new co-anchor is also his new neighbor.
An old friend of Matt's is also Jenny's favorite author. She persuades Matt to arrange an interview with him.
