Fabulously wealthy London housewife Sammy, is forced to return to the town in Australia she grew up in. But in coming home, Sammy must revisit her past and the events that led her to flee as a teenager years ago.
Simone Burbeck’s life appears perfect. She lives in a mansion with her perfect husband and children, and her life is a merry-go-round of expensive renovations, dinner parties and school fundraisers. There’s just one problem: it’s all lies. When her husband has a fatal heart attack in a disastrous session with a sex worker, the true state of their finances is revealed. Simone is broke, homeless and a social outcast. With no other options, and two teenage children to care for, she is forced to return to her family home in Newcastle, Australia. Having made it out of Australia, Sammy and her kids Lenny and Tess live in a tiny London flat while she frantically tries to prove that her lawyer, Rufus, stole her house. Bev realises that the Coopers need her to lie to the cops and looks to profit from their desperation. However, Bev's exploitative behaviour unravels when Jim comes to her side in her hour of need.
Fairbank discovers an unexpected new lead that puts Abby, Tess and Lenny at the centre of his investigation into the disappearance of Terry Harris.
Whilst helping evacuate nursing home residents, Fairbank stumbles across Mrs Atkins chattering about vital case information. As night falls, the Coopers struggle to move the evidence.
