The plot takes place in a fictional city called Vale do Café, where two powerful families, the Toledo and Fontes, are locked in an intense dispute for power and land ownership. Conflicts are marked by betrayals, forbidden loves and dark secrets. The soap opera addresses themes such as ambition, revenge, romance and conflicts between families, showing the fire that consumes the land and human relationships.
Separated in childhood, brothers Diogo and Pedro meet again as rivals and are responsible for deciding the fate of the peaceful city of Divinéia.
Diogo plans to destroy Divinéia. Nara is shaken when she receives a letter. Pedro and Chica think about their future together. André arrives in Divinéia. After a crime, Pedro makes a decision.
Pedro introduces Diogo to the townspeople. André drinks too much after reading Bárbara's letter. Chica is outraged by her father's arrest and warns Pedro.
Chica and Diogo try to convince Pedro to leave the house. Gonzaga travels to participate in the event. The arrival of a person renews their hopes of getting Pedro out of the house.
