Former Amsterdam police detective Floris Wolfs has been transferred to the police department of the south-Dutch country town Maastricht. His metropolitan experience nicely complements the local expertise of his new country colleagues, who know the folks. Slowly he fits in, while solving countless crimes together with his female partner Eva van Dongen.
Eva and Wolfs have a new team manager: Donna Martina. Their past gets in the way of proper functioning. Especially if Donna refuses to listen when Wolfs and Eva notice that they are not the only ones having trouble with Donna.
Against her will Eva starts working as a team leader, leaving Wolfs to solve a murder case alone. The victim is a mysterious man with a fake personality. To find out why he was murdered, Wolfs must discover who he is.
While Floris Wolfs is being examined in the hospital after being knocked down by his son, Romeo is fighting for his life in the same hospital after being stabbed in the back. Meanwhile, Eva and Marion are assigned a new case: the disappearance of two vulnerable girls from an institution. There are fears they may have fallen into the hands of a violent loverboy organization.
A lavish funeral service is seized upon by a criminal group for an apparent settling of accounts within the underworld. Eva throws herself into the case together with Marion.
Eva and Marion uncover a criminal organization with deep ramifications in the legitimate world.
