The Scottish law that limited rent rises and put a freeze on evictions, amid stagnant wages and a cost-of-living crisis, ended in 2024. Subsequently the government declared an official housing emergency due to a lack of social housing, pressure on homelessness services, rising property prices and high levels of temporary accommodation.
Ben considers his rights, Tobias refuses to move out, and Dawn prepares for the bailiffs.
