From 24 hours of agony in Brazil to jumping over bulls in Ethiopia, adventurer Ed Stafford courses the world to experience how indigenous peoples turn boys into men.

Ed Stafford meets the Hamer, cattle herders from Ethiopia, who must jump a line of bulls to be considered a man.

In Brazil, Ed endures the painful bullet-ant ceremony. Also facing 24 hours of agony are the Brazilian boys who do this 20 times to become men.

Ed meets the Hadzabe of Tanzania, who live in balance with their environment, including collecting honey from the world's most aggressive bees.

In Mongolia, Ed must wrestle the giant heirs of Genghis Khan to become a man. He takes part in the annual rite of passage festival, Naadam.

Ed travels to the Ecuadorian rainforest to meet the Waorani, hunting three-headed monkeys and crocodiles, and making poison blow-darts.

Shaolin kung fu can take years to master - Ed has just a few days to learn to control his Qi, or vital force, and perform a Kamehameha, before fighting a martial arts master.
