Children's drama series about Jamie Custer's attempts to be a stand-up comic.
In this episode, young wannabe comedian Jamie Custer gets his first crack at fame when he performs at the school dance. While his routine wins him new fans, his sister Roxie is not one of them. Her love life is the subject of Jamie's jokes, which expose her two-timing antics for all to see.
Jamie and Dallas decide to raise money for a demo tape of Jamie's material, but Jamie does all the work and when he finally gets to record it, he's had no time to prepare.
Jamie thinks that to make it in the cutthroat world of entertainment, it is necessary to suffer some hardship. Accordingly, he sets out to get bullied at school.
Jamie is chosen as the goalkeeper for the school team.
Jamie and Dallas con their way into 'The Last Laugh' comedy club, where Jamie performs a set. His debut turns into a triumph, but can he convince the owner, Pete Maguire, to start a kids' night?

Soon the press are hounding Jamie everywhere, driving the Custer family to distraction. On top of of all that Roxie is trying to keep her relationship with her wannabe rapper boyfriend, Boy Roy, a secret from her Mum.
Jamie falls for pretentious poet Sophie Suttle. While a smitten Jamie tries to impress his new love with his grasp of modern poetry, Dallas and Donnie attempt to get Jamie a slot on the Lonny Crisp Radio Show. Is poetry compatible with comedy? Will Sophie fall for Jamie? Will Jamie ever get his head around poetry, not to mention, True Love?
Mrs Custer's new housekeeper makes the Custers crazy. Jamie gets into the Zippy Cola Festival. Roxie considers a photographer.
