Common Law is an American television sitcom that premiered on ABC on September 28, 1996. The show stars Greg Giraldo as a Latino lawyer at a mostly white law firm. The series was created by Rob LaZebnik, and produced by Witt/Thomas Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Due to low ratings, the series was pulled from ABC's schedule after four episodes had aired.


The couple works on a career-making case, but John's more interested in bailing an old friend out of jail.
John's court victory makes a big impression with Nancy's parents as well as the media, but the glow wears off when he's misquoted in the press.

Nancy tries to win over John's family by offering to take a visiting relative sight-seeing, but loses the woman.

Luis makes a bad impression on his date when John and Nancy set him up with a co-worker.
