Bachelors Walk is an Irish comedy-drama created by John Carney. Shot in and around Dublin, the programme broadcast on RTÉ from 1 October 2001 to 15 December 2003. The plot revolves three single men living in a house in Dublin’s Bachelors Walk: charming ne'er-do-well Barry, film critic Raymond, and would-be barrister Michael. After three series and an absence of three years, the programme concluded with a one-off Christmas special, aired on St Stephen's Day 2006 on RTÉ Two.
Raymond is excited because his ex-girlfriend is moving back to town. His roommates mess with him but also encourage him stay calm when he meets her. A potential new roommate comes to look at the fourth bedroom.
The boys decide to throw a party to celebrate Michael's 30th, but he is reluctant to join in the festivities after a huge argument with Jane. Raymond invites the object of his affections, but is dismayed to discover he has some competition.
Barry walks out of his computer class to launch his own brainchild "The Boland Corporation".
Michael is devastated to learn of Jane's pregnancy and turns to the bottle to console himself, while Allison takes a depressed Raymond and Barry to Donegal to meet her fiance.
Raymond and Allison cannot shake the holiday fever they have picked and try to have a cheap day out in Dublin. On discovering he is about to be a father, Michael is inspired to look for work, and Barry also has his own dreams to pursue.
Raymond learns his ex-girlfriend Kate has been involved in a car accident and rushes to her hotel bedside - where she leaves him shaken by confessing her love for him.
Allison's fiancee visits Dublin and has a bone to pick with Raymond.
Raymond gives serious thought to selling up and moving to the countryside, convinced there's no future for him if Allison leaves town with Mark. Meanwhile, Michael gets an emergency call from Jane, who's ben taken into hospital.
Michael has a stag party the night before his wedding to Jane.
Michael and Jane return from their honeymoon, and Allison returns to town.
New tenant Russell arrives at number 49 and his odd behaviour gives Raymond cause for concern.
Sally suggests to Raymond that she'd like to meet Allison.
Michael and Jane's new flat is finally ready for the big move.
Barry comes to terms with his imminent fatherhood and visits Constance with a proposal in mind, but discovers that she has some ideas of her own on the matter.
When Allison explains to Raymond that she is frustrated with his lifestyle, Raymond is prompted into action and gets a teaching job in Mullingar. Is this the beginning of a lifestyle re-evaluation for Raymond?
