Recently retired criminology professor turned amateur sleuth Gabbi Luck uses her classroom smarts, charm and tenacity to get to the bottom of every crime she encounters. She balances each case with daughter Lisa who is a detective and partner Rick. Gabbi is sometimes assisted by police Captain Taylor, Barbara who works at the station, husband Michael and police psychologist, Dr. Nolan.
Gabbi Luck is an ex-criminology professor whose personal luck hits a snag after reuniting with a former associate and Dean of Criminology at Whitmore College. She's there as a guest lecturer, but when the Dean is found dead the very next morning, class is abruptly canceled and an investigation quickly begins.
When Lisa's father Michael becomes a person of interest in the untimely death of his ex-business partner, she must do whatever she can to help. Though reluctant to do so, this means she will need to enlist the aid of her mother, Gabbi, to lend a hand (and her brain).
Gabbi's longtime friend Kimberly is finally selling her home after residing in it for many years. But the morning after the very first open house, her broker is found dead in her back yard. Naturally, Kimberly turns to Gabbi for help. There are few leads and it's initially presumed that this was a simple burglary gone wrong. As usual, all is not as it seems to be.
