A former DEA agent forced into early retirement runs a gift shop in in the Philippines. Despite his best efforts to begin a tranquil new life, he’s pulled back into a world of dangerous people and deadly situations, either through his friends in the local police department or running into people from his old life. And the problem is: he likes it.
When hypertension forces DEA agent Alex Walker into early retirement, he decides to move to a tranquil beach he visited years ago. When he arrives, he discovers dozens of luxury resorts filling this once secluded island with vacationers...and the rich and famous criminals of the world. Despite his best efforts to begin a new life, he’s pulled back into a world of dangerous people and situations.
Alex is left questioning his place on the island, but with the help of his trusted friends Detective Kai Mendoza and Ernesto Almarez, he discovers a new sense of family that keeps him anchored in paradise.
