A Very British Coup is a British political thriller series based on the novel by Chris Mullin. It stars Ray McAnally as the newly elected left-wing prime minister Harry Perkins, who soon finds himself up to his neck in conspiracy.
The Labour Party leader Harry Perkins, a working class, fervent socialist and former trade union leader becomes Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
Harry Perkins finds numerous enemies ranged against him—and they are in possession of a secret from his past.
Harry is faced with political ruin, but bests his enemies in a way no-one can anticipate.
