Worzel Gummidge Down Under, adapted from the books written by Barbara Euphan Todd and the children's television programme produced and broadcast in the United Kingdom named Worzel Gummidge, starring Jon Pertwee. The story continued in New Zealand when Aunt Sally was sold to a Museum owner.
When Aunt Sally is sold to a 'Museum of Folk History' in New Zealand, Worzel manages to stow away with her for the long journey Down Under. Reaching the town of Piwakawaka from Wellington airport, however, proves far more problematic.
After befriending a local pair of schoolchildren, Worzel sets out to rescue Aunt Sally from the museum. Finding it first closed for renovation, then multiple Aunt Sallys when he eventually gets inside, proves a fine source of mischief.
The Crowman seeks to put Worzel to work in another position after finding his post deserted yet again: as a clothes peg. But then he spots Aunt Sally's dress on the line...
Worzel causes havoc when he and Aunt Sally find themselves on a private golf course with a very snooty male captain.
Whilst the Crowman is being hounded by a travelling scarecrowmaker who wishes to take his powers, Worzel is mistaken for a scarecrow king by the Crowman's latest creation and uses the opportunity for all its worth!
Worzel sends for his heads to be sent from back home in England, but trouble at the museum sees Aunt Sally being captured by the Travelling Scarecrowmaker.
Worzel is hot on the heels of the Travelling Scarecrowmaker but struggling to contend with his dark magic. Their encounter begins when Worzel is distracted by a funfair: can he reach Aunt Sally in time, and rescue her without his brave head?
The Travelling Scarecrowmaker returns. Still intent on making Worzel one of his un-living scarecrow slaves, he kidnaps him in the middle of the night.
Stricken without his crystal ball, the Crowman sends Aunt Sally to free Worzel but she is given short shrift and repeatedly returns without him. Is all lost, or will the Travelling Scarecrowmaker yet be beaten?
It's one of Worzel's many birthdays - his third this month, in fact - and he intends to hold a tea dance to celebrate.
Aunt Sally is rather taken by her own skills when a touring provincial ballet company arrives in town.
Worzel hopes to keep out of trouble after the bad sign of a morning red sign, but Mickey and Manu soon call his help after discovering the Crowman is penniless and fending off bailiffs. Worzel, however, soon needs help of his own!
As Worzel's predicament continues, Mickey and Manu finally convince the Crowman to do something - and organise a scarecrow funeral. Meanwhile, the prospector puts his captive to work.
Aunt Sally gets wind of a local beauty contest and is determined to enter - and win! A new dress and a makeover are called for.
Balbous Cauliflower is causing trouble when he should be minding strawberries. When the farmer has the crop treated with pesticides, Balbous takes the brunt of the gases.
Worzel succumbs to a severe case of the green-eyed monster when one of the Crowman's greatest creations, Weevily Swede, arrives back in town after a long time away.
Worzel turns detective when one of the Crowman's prized possessions disappears whilst in his care, and Worty aides as his not-quite-so-able assistant.
Aunt Sally's greedy dreams of wealth lead Worzel, Mickey and Manu into trouble once more when she helps a waxwork pirate escape from a funfair side-show, in search of his long-buried treasure.
Worzel and Blighty are sent away as punishment, travelling by train. After seeing members of the crew breaking for tea and cake, their attempts to get some for themselves see the train leaving the station with no staff on board!
After joining the Crowman at an art show, Aunt Sally is taken with the riches on offer for sale of a truly great work. Worzel, also, seeks fame and fortune - and intends to prove his own artistic talents accordingly.
A nearby convent presents the Crowman with a challenge: the commission of his first female scarecrow.
New Zealand's Governor General requires a scarecrow to prevent the eating of his beautiful lawns, so the Crowman summons all of his greatest creations to assess who is best for the job.
