Two in Clover is a British sitcom produced by Thames Television for two series from 1969 to 1970 on ITV. It starred Sid James and Victor Spinetti and was written by Vince Powell and Harry Driver, and produced and directed by Alan Tarrant. The first series was made in black and white and the second series was made in colour. Frustrated office workers Sid Turner and Vic Evans decide to leave behind their nine-to-five lifestyle for the simpler life of living in the countryside and running a farm.
Sid and Vic finds themselves knee deep in Fresian cows.
Vic and Sid try to ingratiate themselves with the country set by joining the local foxhunt, but soon join a campaign aimed at protecting the fox from the hounds.
Sid must cope with an over-amorous duck and an over-friendly cow.
Vic sends a postcard to his old workmates, prompting a visit by charwoman Queenie and her husband, who reveal Sid's hidden secret.
Sid concocts various crafty schemes to cope with a financial crisis on the farm.
After a market day drinking session, Sid must battle the breathalyser.
Sid's sporting activities are usually confined to the indoor type, preferably after dark, until Vic tricks him into playing cricket for the vicar's eleven.
Broke once more, Sid and Vic apply to their less than friendly bank manager.
After several pints of bitter, Vic and Sid bet on which cow has the highest cream yield in the county.
Vic thinks Sid has proposed to Hilary and pulls out all stops to save his pal from a mother-in-law worse than death.
