Transformers: Super-God Masterforce aired on Japanese television from 1988 to 1989. Taking place after Transformers: Headmasters, it is the story of how Metalhawk and his small team of Autobots must protect Earth from the mysterious Devil Z and his Decepticon forces. Humans play many prominent roles in Masterforce, from the Decepticon husband-wife team of Giga and Mega to the Autobot's Junior Headmasters and the reluctantly-recruited Ginrai. Masterforce is often considered second only to Transformers: Victory as a fan favorite.
This episode is the fifth of five Super-God Masterforce clip episodes produced for direct-to-video release, but this one actually wound up airing on television as the forty-third and final broadcast episode of the series. The sudden reappearance of the Decepticons on Earth forces the long-hidden Autobot Pretenders to drop their human disguises and rejoin the fight.
The Decepticons transform human corpses into undead "Destroids", and then attack the island nation of Karin, where the Autobots must team up with the island's prince, Cab, to save the day.
Seeking live humans for their Destroid experiments, the Decepticons attack jumbo jets, bringing the Autobots into contact with a young girl named Minerva.
