The Pinocchio Project is the story of an unrealised project, a dream, that Stanley Kubrick worked on for more than twenty years. The story of a robot child who wants to become human and be loved. Kubrick preferred to collaborate with writers who were not professional screenwriters, with whom, over the course of long chats, he would work out scripts. These were never final and would be reworked with the actors during filming and even into the editing room.
