Petey is a New York City “it” girl who has it all until her life comes crashing down around her. As luck would have it, a mysterious gift from her father gives her a new lease on life: she’s going to “lean into” modernizing his small-town cult.
When her perfect life falls apart, “It Girl” Petey St. Barts is thrown a lifeline in the form of a mysterious gift from her deceased father: he’s left her in charge of his small-town cult.
In her first act as cult leader, Petey liberates her new followers from their demeaning jobs and tries to come up with a vision statement. Mae Mae struggles with the sudden unemployment crisis.
Petey and Eliza team up to get to the bottom of New Utopia’s finances and raise enough money to get medicine for a sick Mae Mae ― without resorting to recruiting new cult members. How hard could it be for an educated city girl to make $30?

The fated comet is coming! Skeptical, Petey and Bandit prepare to support disappointed cult members in the aftermath until Petey begins to worry what her life looks like without the cult’s devotion.
