An annual Canadian awards ceremony, known as National Aboriginal Achievement Awards until 2012, intended to celebrate and encourage excellence in the Aboriginal community in Canada, honouring dedicated and community-focused First Nations, Inuit and Métis, presented by Indspire (formerly National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation).

The ceremonies are hosted by Tom Jackson with Buffy Sainte-Marie, Susan Aglukark, the singing duo Kashtin, guitarist Don Ross, singer Jani Lauzon, Gaetan Gingras and Christine O'Leary.

In early March 2020, the Indspire Awards were held in Ottawa, Ontario. It was one of the last public events before the pandemic shut the country down, placing group celebrations and events on hold. The new format, executive produced by Jennifer Podemski, focuses heavily on the story of each recipient, pushing the boundaries of what is possible for celebratory events during unconventional times.


After 29 years, the Indspire Awards have honoured 396 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement. Their stories are shared in a nationally broadcast celebration that showcases the diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada.


The Indspire Awards reach a significant milestone this year: 2023 marks 30 years of honouring First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals who demonstrate incredible accomplishment across Turtle Island and beyond. The 2024 Indspire Awards blends live-action and animation. Focusing on each recipient's story, the awards broadcast will simultaneously celebrate tradition and Indigenous excellence through a cinematic journey narrated by an elder.


Through heartfelt animation and powerful live-action stories, Indspire 2025: Vision and Visionaries follows a young girl's magical journey exploring the achievements of 12 extraordinary people.
