A new adventure is beginning within the wide world of Pokémon! Arriving at Indigo Academy, a little girl named Liko receives her first partner Pokémon, Sprigatito. But she soon finds herself pursued by the Explorers, a mysterious group that's determined to take the pendant necklace she wears. Liko isn't on her own, though, as Friede, Captain Pikachu, and the other Rising Volt Tacklers offer her protection aboard their airship. Meanwhile, a young boy named Roy dreams of becoming a Pokémon Trainer, unaware of the secret hiding within the Ancient Poké Ball he carries. As Liko, Roy, and the Rising Volt Tacklers set sail for new horizons, what kind of discoveries await?

Liko and the others have come to Area Zero, where they accompany Briar to the place where Entei was spotted. In the meantime, Sango, who had been tailing the group, encounters an odd-looking Purin, and the two of them decide to team up to fight back against the enraged Paradox Pokémon Great Tusk after getting attacked by it?!
Liko and the others finally locate Entei in Area Zero! However, this Entei seems kind of different from normal Entei. Liko, Roy and Dot challenge it to a battle, getting help from Friede as well, but moves that should be effective against a Fire type like Entei aren't having much effect either?! But why...? And will Liko and the others manage to overcome Entei?
The Black Rayquaza once again appears before Liko, Roy and the others, and they all challenge it to a battle together in order to gain its approval! However, despite incorporating the terrain to great effect in their combo attacks, they gradually end up driven against the wall by the overwhelmingly powerful Rayquaza! Liko's wishes... Roy's desire... What's going to happen to them at the end of this fierce battle against the last member of the Six Heroes?!
Rayquaza is guiding Liko and the others towards Rakua. Meanwhile, Amethio had been going undercover at Exceed in order to look into what Spinel is plotting, but got spotted by security guards and captured. And now a certain person appears...? Amethio learns about the connection between his grandfather Gibeon and Lucius from a 100 years back... and makes a resolve!
Rayquaza guides Liko and the others to a mountain towering high into the heavens. They begin asking around for information on Rakua in Kumuri Town, a town located at the foot of the mountain, when they meet a young boy named Yuha who insists they need to get out of the town immediately. As the group soon learns, local legend has it that disaster will strike when the Black Rayquaza appears.
Liko and the others finally arrive in Rakua, which was located at the peak of Mt. Kumli. Here, a virtual paradise spreads out before them, with rich and plentiful nature and many wild Pokémon living in peace and quiet! Deeply moved by this sight, they start searching for 100 year old traces of Lucius. But a certain Pokémon is keeping an eye on them...
In the center of Rakua, Pagogo releases the barrier it set up a 100 years ago... but then the Explorers suddenly appear, having been lying in wait for the barrier to get released so they can obtain the Rakulium...! The decisive battle in Rakua over the Rakulium now begins: Friede VS Spinel, Liko VS Onyx, Roy VS Sango and Dot VS Agate!!
As Gibeon attempts to use Zygarde to dig up the Rakulium, Amethio appears before him and tells him... Meanwhile, Liko and the others come rushing over as well, having seen the overflowing energy. But as they attempt to stop the digging, the Rakulium crystal shatters into pieces and a certain someone appears from within...?!
With the Rakulium crystal before them, Liko and the others square off against Gibeon! Liko, Roy, Dot and now also Amethio engage in a fierce seesaw battle against the mighty Zygarde, who is so overwhelmingly powerful it's difficult to even get near it! As the four fight on, they gradually start finding opportunities to close in on Zygarde, but...
Thanks to Pagogo and the Six Heroes, the Rakulium finally gets successfully purified. However, after a brief moment where everyone believes things are at long last over, Spinel suddenly announces he's going to "take control of" Rakua! He then somehow manages to make the Six Heroes go berserk... Liko and the others attempt to escape as Rakua falls to the rampaging Six Heroes. What lies in wait at the end of the adventure to Rakua?!
It has been one year since the decisive battle in Rakua. One day Roy, who has continued adventuring with Captain Pikachu, learns about a Pokémon that's acting abnormally, and decides to investigate. A young boy named Uruto then appears, accompanied by a Yamirami... In the forest, Roy and Uruto spot a Kekking on a Rakulium-induced rampage?! How can this be, when the Rakulium was supposedly completely destroyed? Liko, on the other hand, is attending Sekiei Academy, when she suddenly...
Liko and Roy once again set out on a journey, this time in order to restore the truth about the Rising Volt Tacklers. Using information they receive from Dot, they chase down a Pokémon affected by Rakulium. This leads them to a place with countless holes in the ground, as well as traces of Rakulium...! Suddenly, a savage Haganeil shows up! How will Liko and Roy take on this Pokémon that boasts an impregnable defense?!
Gurumin receives an eyewitness report regarding the Black Rayquaza! Liko and Roy go to the town where the eyewitness lives, where they find the passionate Gurumin fan "Nyabby Girl". However, Nyabby Girl's attitude changes completely when she learns Liko and the others are members of the Rising Volt Tacklers! A battle starts, and Nyabby Girl sends out a Gaogaen, which Masquernya is at a type disadvantage against... What will Liko do?!
When Liko and the others learn that more and more Pokémon in a forest are getting sick, they begin to investigate whether or not this is because the Pokémon are affected by Rakulium. In the process, they run into Molly, who's treating poisoned wild Pokémon! Molly is currently working at a Pokémon Center... but the happy reunion gets interrupted by cries from scared Pokémon coming from the depths of the forest....! As they continue further in, they find a berserk Ruffresia scattering poison in all directions...?!
Liko and Roy make their way into an Exceed Testing Center where a demonstration battle showcasing the "Strong Sphere", a new product that makes Pokémon stronger, is taking place. However, just then Uruto arrives at the Testing Center as well...
Liko and the others learn of an eyewitness account of the Black Rayquaza near Fusube City, the home of a clan of Dragon Pokémon Trainers, but when they head there to investigate, a trio of masked Mototokage riders show up.
Nanjyamo asks Dot to come visit her in Hakko City, where a high number of pranks have apparently been played on Pokémon lately to scare them. When Dot checks the footage of these pranks, it turns out they're actually being played by a Maggyo?! It's quite fast too... could this be due to it being affected by Rakulium? Dot heads downtown to investigate, where she encounters...?!
Liko and the others reunite with Murdock in Cercle Town. Murdock gets really worried when he learns that they have reformed the Rising Volt Tacklers and are investigating Rakulium.
Liko and the others go to Karna's factory in the Galar region to meet with Orio, but when they ask her to build them an airship, she refuses, telling them to ask someone else. Liko and the others find themselves at their wits' end... but then Cap suddenly senses something and runs towards the forest. And believe it or not, there they find... the Brave Asagi, which they had been told had been dismantled!!
Liko, Roy, Dot and Uruto end up battling the Explorers at Karna's factory, where they have quite a difficult time against the Paldea Kentauros that have been strengthened by Strong Spheres. They observe the Kentauros' behavior and try to find a hint towards how to overcome them, however...?! And what does Orio feel when she sees Liko and the others' refusal to give up?
Liko and the others go to Orange Academy to meet with Omodaka and Principal Clavel in order to tell them the truth about the Strong Spheres. They also go to talk with Zinnia to find out what the actual connection between Rakulium and Pokémon is. Roy then meets Nemo again, and the two have their first battle in quite a while. It's time for a fierce fight between two Fighting types to begin: Lucario VS Parmot!
Nakanuchan is once again cheerfully searching for iron to create the ultimate hammer! However, just when it finds some iron it really likes, the iron gets collected by a truck... Even after returning to the airship, Nakanuchan is unable to forget about this iron, so it dives off the ship just as it's about to take off...?! At the same time, Sango and Onyx are on the move, riding in an Armorga Taxi...
