At Deep Space Nine, a space station located next to a wormhole in the vicinity of the liberated planet of Bajor, Commander Sisko and crew welcome alien visitors, root out evildoers and solve all types of unexpected problems that come their way.
A bonus included on the Season 1 DVD box set release, this feature includes interviews with Michael Piller (1 October 1992), Rick Berman (7 June 2002), and Avery Brooks (4 November 1992) on the making of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. As Star Trek: Deep Space Nine airs it's pilot episode, Paramount airs this 50 minute documentary as a way to spark excitement about the new show. It includes interviews from the cast and crew and contains lots of sneak peaks into the show's first season. This TV special originally aired on January 4, 1993 in the UK but wasn't released for home media until July 20, 1994 in the U.S.
The Provisional Government of Bajor invites Starfleet to help them rebuild after the Cardassian Occupation. Commander Benjamin Sisko is selected to take command of their space station, formerly known as Terok Nor that is then designated by Starfleet as Deep Space 9. As part of the agreement between the Federation and Bajor, Starfleet will help them to become a member of the Federation.
Stardate: 46379.1. Commander Benjamin Sisko and a new crew of Starfleet and Bajoran officers take command of an abandoned Cardassian space station and make an incredible discovery that will change the galaxy and Sisko's future.
Stardate: 46379.1. A new crew is assigned to a former Cardassian space station: Deep Space Nine. It is a joint Federation/Bajoran force, with Commander Sisko in charge, but his life is dramatically changed when he is declared the Emissary to the Prophets by a Bajoran priest.

The Wadi from the Gamma Quadrant are to make first contact and decide to visit DS9. When they catch Quark cheating they let him off by playing a special game.
Stardate: Unknown. Grand Nagus Zek, the leader of Ferengi society, comes to DS9 to oversee the introduction of a Ferengi business presence in the Gamma Quadrant and announce Quark as his successor.
Stardate: Unknown. A wanted man from the Gamma Quadrant with questionable motives reveals to Odo stories about other "Changelings," which may hold clues to Odo's mysterious origin.
Stardate: Unknown. Sisko, Kira, and Bashir take Kai Opaka through the wormhole for a brief excursion in the Gamma Quadrant. But when they crash-land on a desolate planet, they find a divided, warring penal colony where no one ever dies.
Stardate: 46729.1. When O'Brien and Bashir beam down to a Bajoran village, the community selects O'Brien as their next Sirah - expecting him to save them from a menacing entity.

In their second year together, the crew of Deep Space 9 face problems that will affect the galaxy forever. A Bajoran extremist group attempts to force the Federation out of the Bajoran system. The Cardassians are secretly supplying them with weapons, hoping to return to reclaim the planet and hold the Bajoran wormhole for the Cardassian Union. However, the greatest enemy of all is lurking beyond it.
Stardate: Unknown. Word that a previously thought dead Bajoran resistance legend is still alive sends Kira and Chief O'Brien to Cardassia IV to rescue him; meanwhile "The Circle", a sect of the Bajoran provisional government that is intent on wiping out alien influence, is sneaking into power.

Stardate: Unknown. A female Ferengi, posing as a male to be available to participate in business (a rule STRICTLY forbidden by the Ferengi government), falls for Quark during very important negotiations between the Ferengi and a Gamma Quadrant race.
Stardate: 47282.5. Odo relives some terrible and tragic memories of a past investigation when he was the constable on Cardassian-occupied Deep Space Nine, then named Terok Nor.
Stardate: 47329.4. While noted scientist Gideon Seyetik is preparing for an ambitious project, re-igniting a star, Sisko is intrigued by a woman who keeps disappearing.
Stardate: 47391.2. A race that has been conquered twice over, one of the conquerors being the mysterious Dominion, comes to the station seeking aid and a new home.

Season 3 of Deep Space Nine marks a turning point for the series, as it introduces the USS Defiant, a powerful starship that allows the crew to explore the Gamma Quadrant and face the threat of the Dominion, a vast and ruthless empire ruled by the shape-shifting Founders.

Season 4 of Deep Space Nine marks a major shift for the series, as it introduces a new conflict between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, sparked by the latter's distrust of the shape-shifting Founders. Worf, the former security chief of the USS Enterprise-D, joins the station's crew as Sisko's strategic operations officer, and faces challenges in his loyalty, honor, and family.
