Low on inspiration for his second book, a gloomy novelist agrees to write a memoir for a dying man — and swiftly becomes part of his bloodstained past.
Stuck in a creative rut, Adrien accepts a ghostwriting job from an aging man named Albert, who wants to pen the story of his lifelong love, Solange.
Nora leaks Adrien’s manuscript to his publisher. In the 70s, Albert and Solange spend bloody summers along the French Riviera.
Carrel uncovers a damning lead in the Powell cold case. As his relationship with Nora deteriorates, Adrien becomes acquainted with Albert’s friends.
Albert remembers one particularly close call and a rough patch with Solange. Adrien descends into old vices. Mathilde looks into Carrel’s disappearance.
