Leyla ile Mecnun is a Turkish television comedy series. The show is set in Istanbul, Turkey and premiered in 2011 on TRT. The series is a surreal and absurd comedy that revolves around the fictional love story between Leyla and Mecnun.

Two babies born in the same hospital on the same day are placed side by side due to the lack of beds. The babies, who are betrothed in cradle beds after their families say "they found each other as soon as they were born", are named after the legendary lovers Leyla and Mecnun. 25 years pass. One morning, his family tells Mecnun about the situation and they go to ask for Leyla's hand in marriage. Although Mecnun is initially uncomfortable with this situation, he falls in love with Leyla as soon as he sees her. Not knowing what to do to impress her, Mecnun sees Grandfather with a white beard in his dream one night. Things get complicated when Grandfather with a white beard comes out of his dreams and starts living with Mecnun.
Mecnun's parents rouse Metin and Sevim at an ungodly hour over engagement matters. But to Mecnun's dismay, the visit quickly unravels.
While Mecnun is head over heels in love, Arda has no intention of letting Leyla go. But there is no limit to what Mecnun will do to win her over.
Metin intervenes on his daughter's behalf, but Mecnun is not so easy to bait. After a mix-up with the check, Mecnun bears the burden of proof.
As Mecnun is about to gain Leyla's trust, Erdal Bakkal and the white-bearded grandpa cook up a new product and unwittingly muddle up everything again.
Mecnun's romantic gestures impress more than just Leyla, who is vexed by his new persona and seeks the white-bearded grandpa's counsel.
Karabasan turns up the heat on Metin. After Mecnun and his friends disentangle themselves from a predicament, an accident turns his world upside down.

Kamil makes Mecnun an offer, but darker motives are behind the proposal. Mecnun gets off the train to find himself in another time.
Arda's father suggests a contingency plan to split Leyla and Mecnun with a real estate scheme. It's Leyla's turn to make a sacrifice.
Erdal suspects Mecnun will spoil the deal. Yavuz takes matters into his own hands when Arda and his father decide to speed up the nuptials.
Arda and his father hire a mad scientist to clone Mecnun, but the experiment produces unexpected results.

It is not just the neighborhood that has changed, there are no familiar faces in his house anymore and if he does not do something, their house will be lost to them. This time, Mecnun sets out saying, “I will set up this game!” and does his best to bring the neighborhood together. There is something he does not know, this struggle leaves him in the middle of his common fate with Leyla.
