Doctor Keitaro Shido, an acclaimed scientist, has been kidnapped by the terrorist organization Neo-Shocker to exploit his expertise in robotics technology. Desperate to escape, he convinces Neo-Shocker's command to allow him to operate on an injured camper. Explaining that he can turn the camper, Hiroshi Tsukuba into a powerful Neo-Shocker warrior, they allow Doctor Shido to operate. However, he quickly turns the tables on them, transforming Hiroshi, not into a kaijin, but the powerful warrior Sky Rider, using his newfound abilities to combat the evil Neo-Shocker menace.
Neo Shocker attacks and a young man Hiroshi Tsukuba becomes Skyrider and protects the world from them.
A Neo Shocker kaijin disguises himself as Skyrider in order to discredit Hiroshi, forcing him to defeat the fake and regain kids' trust.
When Aki is turned into a fossilized statue, Hiroshi investigates a temple being used as a base to ultimately launch Skyrider to his death in space.
A boy decides to try and join a Neo Shocker recruitment drive for a squadron of child Ari Commandos, forcing Hiroshi to try and stop the new method before it corrupts its young victims.
A Neo Shocker monster uses special headbands to create brainwashed slaves to do its bidding, including to defeat Hiroshi.
Hiroshi storms through Neo Shocker's bases when he discovers that his family may be still alive and his father modified after being supposedly killed by the evil organization.
